Today is Mitzvah Day, a fantastic project that aims to unite the community in making a difference.
This year, people in Israel were able to take part in Mitzvah Day too, by volunteering for Leket, Israel's national food bank. Find out more about Leket at www.leket.org/english.
On Friday, Sam Freeman and Benjamin Silverblatt joined Leket to pick fruit and vegetables for Israel's needy. Benjamin told me that it was "good fun", and they managed to pick enough clementines for 750 families.
Former Prime Minister, Tony Blair, has recorded a special message for Mitzvah Day,
In the UK, Bnei Akiva is proudly taking part in Mitzvah Day, in conjunction with Hendon Synagogue.
Go to www.mitzvahday.org.uk to find out how you can take part.
Of course, on Torani, every day is a Mitzvah day - but this week we are able to combine our global positive contributions for the collective good.
