400 Religious Zionist emissaries gathered today at the Judean Guest House in Jerusalem for the annual 'Religious Zionist Shlichim Convention. The convention was organized by the JNF, the Department for Religious Affairs in the Diaspora of the WZO and the World Mizrachi Movement. The single emissaries will serve in their positions for a minimum of one year, while the families may serve up to four years.
Today, the young and anxious young idealists met their peers from other organizations for a day filled with content, discussing ideology and practical Hasbara techniques. Asi & Tuvia, two talented actors produced short and original skits, displaying the complex life of the Israeli Shaliach (emissary) in the Diaspora. The emissaries were then split into geographic groups according to the areas in the world which they will be placed. Each group discussed the complicated situations which were displayed on stage, and adapted the stories to their local communities' mentality and reality.
Each emissary received a technological kit, which consists of interactive educational computer games shows, including "Who Wants to be a Zionist", the Zionistic version to the popular "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" TV show. The educational kit was produced by the WZO's Hagshama Department.
